Student Placements & Internships
Student Internships at Our Holborn, London Office
As a nonprofit organisation, we offer internships to help students gain real workplace experience, build confidence, and develop useful skills for their future careers.
We know it can be difficult for students to find opportunities that give proper hands-on experience, so we try to provide placements where interns can genuinely learn, contribute, and be involved in meaningful work.
At the same time, interns often bring fresh ideas and new perspectives that help support and improve our work
As you would understand, for the safety, suitability, and compatibility of both parties, we have a few requirements and important pieces of information that we provide in advance. This helps students, schools, colleges, universities, and organisations decide whether the placement would be suitable and beneficial for everyone involved..
Who We Can Accommodate
At present, we are only able to accommodate students in further education (university level). Unfortunately, our work environment and responsibilities are generally not suitable for younger students due to the level of independence, professionalism, and responsibility required.
However, younger students are always welcome to:
- Volunteer with us
- Attend our events and activities
- Engage with our community initiatives where appropriate
Placement Duration
We prefer interns, work experience students, and placement students who are able to stay with us for a minimum of 6 weeks, with 8 weeks preferred.
This is because:
- It allows students enough time to properly learn and understand the role
- It helps interns build confidence and gain meaningful experience
- It enables students to contribute more effectively to ongoing projects
- It ensures continuity within the organisation
- It reduces disruption caused by repeatedly onboarding and training short-term placements
We appreciate your understanding regarding this requirement.
Working Environment
Dress Code: We do not have a strict dress code; however, we do appreciate smart casual attire.
Please ensure your clothing is appropriate for a professional working environment.

Application Guidance
We strongly advise students to contact us several months in advance of their intended placement start date.
Due to receiving a high number of applications and having limited placement capacity, early communication significantly increases the likelihood of accommodation.
Please contact the relevant email addresses provided on this website for placement enquiries and availability.

FAQs
Your team can choose from a range of meaningful hands-on activities, including making warm beanies for people experiencing homelessness, creating bracelets and motivational cards for children, painting A4 canvases for schools and community spaces, and taking part in our immersive VR Africa Experience. Activities can be combined or tailored depending on your team size, venue, and goals.
Sessions can be arranged from 2 hours up to a full day. A typical session includes a short introductory presentation, hands-on volunteering activities, and time for reflection on the impact of your team’s contribution. We can adapt the structure to suit your organisation’s schedule
We can bring the experience to your office, conference room, or a suitable outdoor space such as a marquee. We also have a London office in High Holborn where we can host smaller teams. Our team will discuss the best option with you during the planning stage.
The volunteering event itself is free of charge. However, donations are welcome to help cover the cost of materials such as arts and crafts supplies, equipment, and resources used during the activities. Every contribution helps us continue delivering meaningful volunteering experiences and supporting communities in need.
