Make a Difference to Global Water Crisis
Clean and safe water might be a common element of our lives, but there are still 1 billion people who don’t have access to this. Clean water is still one of the biggest crises of today! It’s a human’s primary need. Without it, everything becomes a risk factor: poverty, education, health and a big issue for women and children. Because of contaminated water sources, every 2 minutes, a child dies.
It is also a huge challenge for women. The average woman in rural Africa walks 6 kilometers every day to haul 40 pounds of water, and in the end, the water isn’t even clean. The long walk for water is full of dangers; wild animals attack poor souls on the way to water, sometimes children are kidnapped and don’t have time to go to school.

How your water donation changes lives
Donating to water initiatives plays a pivotal role in transforming lives and communities. Access to clean water is fundamental to human survival, health, and overall well-being. By contributing to water-related projects, donors empower communities with the essential resource of clean water, eliminating the daily struggles many face in sourcing it.
Such donations not only quench thirst but also pave the way for improved sanitation, reduced disease transmission, and enhanced quality of life. Moreover, they alleviate the burdens on women and children who often bear the brunt of water collection, allowing children more time for education and women for other productive activities. In essence, a donation of water is a donation towards a brighter, healthier future for many.
Stages of Building a Water Well
Stage 1: Assessing the Location and Identifying the Need
At Time to Help, our journey to bring clean water to communities begins with a thorough assessment of the location. This crucial first step involves our dedicated team conducting on-site evaluations to understand the geographical and environmental factors of the proposed well site. We engage with local communities to understand their specific needs and the challenges they face in accessing clean water.
Stage 2: Management Plan Development and Sharing
In the second stage of our water well project, our partners create a detailed management plan. This crucial document outlines construction strategies, budget, environmental sustainability, and future maintenance of the well. It delineates roles and responsibilities, ensuring a collaborative approach.
We at Time to Help, along with potential donors, thoroughly review this plan to ensure alignment with our mission and the community’s needs. This step emphasizes transparency and partnership, allowing for collective understanding and commitment to the project’s objectives. It’s essential for ensuring the well’s sustainability and long-term benefit to the community.
Stage 3: Construction of the Water Well
Stage 3 marks the physical construction of the water well. Leveraging the detailed management plan, our team and local partners begin the on-site work. This includes drilling, setting up the well structure, and ensuring proper water filtration systems. Emphasis is placed on efficiency, safety, and minimal environmental impact. Throughout this phase, we keep communities informed and involved, as their engagement is key to the project’s success.
Stage 4: Opening Ceremony and Sharing Details with Donors
Stage 4 celebrates the completion of the water well with an opening ceremony, involving the local community and stakeholders. We capture this momentous occasion through photographs and videos. These visuals, along with detailed information about the well, are shared with our donors to illustrate the tangible impact of their support and the difference made in the community.
How do we spend your donation?
Rest assured that 90% of your donation will go directly towards supporting the project and making a positive impact. In addition, the remaining 10% will be invested in our fundraising efforts, allowing us to reach even more people and make an even greater impact.

FAQ
Water scarcity refers to the lack of sufficient available water resources to meet the water usage demands within a region. It can result from physical water shortages and an inability to access water due to socio-economic reasons. Water scarcity can have dire consequences, impacting agriculture, health, and livelihoods. It can lead to food shortages, hinder economic growth, and even conflict over dwindling resources. Additionally, water scarcity exacerbates the challenges of vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, who often bear the primary responsibility for water collection. As the global population grows and climate change affects water availability in many regions, addressing water scarcity becomes increasingly crucial for sustainable development and well-being.
