This week we hosted our first roundtable discussion on the ethics of orphanage volunteerism, bringing together five inspiring panellists:

Olivia Barker White (Kids Club Kampala) – Co-Founder & CEO
Ridwana Wallace-Laher (Islamic Help) – Director of Growth
Imtiaz Patel (Help Yateem) – Director of Development

The conversation explored the realities of short term volunteering, safeguarding risks, and the need to prioritise family based care while recognising children as active participants in their own lives.

This marks the start of developing a policy document framework to guide our work and share with the wider humanitarian sector.
