We were incredibly privileged to run our first ever Basic Life Support (BLS) course, a free public session hosted at @rumimosque , accredited by the @british.ima British Islamic Medical Association and the @the_bhf under the Lifesavers Programme.

A huge thank you to Dr. Anisah Ishtiaq @dranisahxo and Dr. Abd-Ur Raheem Chaudhary @drarc12 for creating and leading the session, and to Dr. Anika, Dr. Beatrice, Dr. Mo, and Dr. Sahar for supporting throughout the day. 🥼🩵

We began with an engaging presentation covering vital statistics and key differences between choking, recovery position, and CPR, before breaking into groups to practice on adult, child, and baby mannequins, learning how to save lives across all ages.

Afterwards, we celebrated everyone’s efforts with certificates, chai, and biscuits 🥇🍪☕️

A heartfelt thank you to Rumi Mosque, BIMA, and @timetohelpuk and our incredible doctors for making this initiative possible. May this be the first of many sessions empowering our community with life-saving skills! ❤️‍🩹

Thank you to everyone who joined our bracelet making session this week 🎁❤️

We’ll be taking these bracelets with us on our next charity trips to sub-saharan Africa, and we just want to say a huge thank you for all the love and effort our volunteers put in. It might seem like something small, but there’s a deeper meaning behind it. When our volunteers come to our office and make these with us, it’s a chance to talk, connect, and inspire one another while spending our time doing something good.

Over time, so many of the people who have joined these sessions have gone on to volunteer abroad too, which shows how powerful small volunteer experiences can be.

We know a bracelet won’t change someone’s life, but when we give them to orphans or struggling community, it becomes a gift of choice and dignity. Something that belongs to them, that no one can take away ❤️
