Walk 2 Water
Snowdonia & London

Clean and safe water is something many of us rarely think twice about, yet for many around the world, it remains out of reach. This is a challenge too vast to solve overnight, but not too large to act upon. Real change begins with small, consistent efforts, and together, those efforts can grow into lasting impact.
ย

Our shared responsibility, regardless of background, resources, or circumstances, is to raise awareness and take steps toward change.ย

Thatโ€™s why Time to Help is proud to launch a series of community challenges, and we invite you to be part of it. Whether youโ€™re ready to take on the challenge, fundraise, or simply spread the word.

Weโ€™re hosting two upcoming events:

  • The London City Walk accessible route, perfect for everyone.
  • The Snowdon Challengeย  designed for those seeking adventure.

A small participation fee covers transport and lunch, making it easy for you to join. Prefer to make your own way or skip the meal? Youโ€™re welcome to attend free of charge. However, we request everyone to fundraise.

How your water donation changes lives

Donating to water initiatives plays a pivotal role in transforming lives and communities. Access to clean water is fundamental to human survival, health, and overall well-being. By contributing to water-related projects, donors empower communities with the essential resource of clean water, eliminating the daily struggles many face in sourcing it.

Such donations not only quench thirst but also pave the way for improved sanitation, reduced disease transmission, and enhanced quality of life. Moreover, they alleviate the burdens on women and children who often bear the brunt of water collection, allowing children more time for education and women for other productive activities. In essence, a donation of water is a donation towards a brighter, healthier future for many.

Stages of Building a Water Well

Stage 1: Assessing the Location and Identifying the Need

At Time to Help, our journey to bring clean water to communities begins with a thorough assessment of the location. This crucial first step involves our dedicated team conducting on-site evaluations to understand the geographical and environmental factors of the proposed well site. We engage with local communities to understand their specific needs and the challenges they face in accessing clean water.

How do we spend your donation?

Rest assured that 90% of your donation will go directly towards supporting the project and making a positive impact. In addition, the remaining 10% will be invested in our fundraising efforts, allowing us to reach even more people and make an even greater impact.

FAQ

Water scarcity refers to the lack of sufficient available water resources to meet the water usage demands within a region. It can result from physical water shortages and an inability to access water due to socio-economic reasons. Water scarcity can have dire consequences, impacting agriculture, health, and livelihoods. It can lead to food shortages, hinder economic growth, and even conflict over dwindling resources. Additionally, water scarcity exacerbates the challenges of vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, who often bear the primary responsibility for water collection. As the global population grows and climate change affects water availability in many regions, addressing water scarcity becomes increasingly crucial for sustainable development and well-being.

What is the global water crisis?

Clean and safe water might be a common element of our lives, but there are still 1 billion people who donโ€™t have access to this. Clean water is one of the biggest crises of today. Without it, various aspects of life become risk factors, including poverty, education, and health. Contaminated water sources lead to severe consequences, such as a child dying every 2 minutes. Moreover, the average woman in rural Africa walks 6 kilometres daily to haul 40 pounds of water, which often isn’t even clean. This long walk poses dangers like wild animal attacks kidnappings, and deprives children of school time.
