Why People Choose Us?

I gained a deeper level of understanding, perspective, and gratitude in many forms. I was able to see first-hand what many people have to go through on a daily basis, such as extreme poverty and how that contributes to people’s decisions while in need. It was a massive eye-opener, and so many lessons have been taken from this trip for the better.

FAQs

What is volunteering abroad?

Participating in an international volunteer programme means travelling to countries that may require additional support for various reasons, such as limited governmental assistance, economic challenges, or environmental and climate-related issues. The main ways to contribute include raising funds for projects, working directly on projects, and spending meaningful time with local people.

Why should I join a volunteering abroad programme?

We believe in purposeful travel that positively contributes to communities. Here are some of the benefits for individuals, volunteers groups, and the communities we work with:

• Step out of your comfort zone by taking action for others
• Open the door to new experiences that help you discover yourself
• Develop your problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Meet new volunteers and build meaningful friendships
• Bring discipline to your life through teamwork with other volunteers
• Learn about the cultures of people from different regions
• Enrich your life experience by visiting a new country and learning about its history, geography, culture, and people
• Experience the spiritual joy of helping others
• Add new skills to your CV/Resume and Linkedin
• Change your perspective on life by developing empathy in various situations and events
• Take a step toward creating a more livable world.

Additionally, we provide certificates for your participation.

Why Should You Volunteer Abroad with TTH?

With over a decade of experience in international projects, we focus on providing sustainable and long-term solutions.

What makes us different from other volunteer organisations is our commitment to careful planning to understand the needs of local communities. We work with our long-established partners on the ground who guide our efforts to ensure they meet genuine local needs. Importantly, we do not profit from these trips – every penny you pay goes directly towards funding your experience, from accommodation to meals and activity costs.
This ensures transparency and that your contributions fully support the work being done. We choose small, friendly programmes with no more than 12 people.

Thanks to the strong partnerships and connections we have in the countries we visit, our trips are safer and worryless. We can easily request assistance in case of any emergency and benefit from local knowledge. The locals provide us with the best tips and insights about each country, ensuring we experience it in the mo

How to travel abroad with a volunteer group?

We meet all volunteers at the airport unless they are arriving from a different country. As we are based in London, we typically aim to book the same flight from a London airport for our UK volunteers whenever possible. This helps make the arrival process more seamless, including airport transfers and in-country transport, which is included in your trip fee.

We carefully choose flights that are both affordable and time-efficient. Once you’ve been accepted onto the trip, we keep you updated every step of the way, including guidance on how and when to book your flight.

However, we understand that our volunteers come from all over the world and may not always be on the same flight. For these cases, we will arrange a pick-up once they’ve landed and gotten off their plane.

Once we arrive in the destination country, we are warmly welcomed by our local team – our trusted partners for these trips – who will take us to our accommodation using safe transportation

Why Do We Require Fundraising

As a non-profit organisation, fundraising is vital to the success of our trips. While the participation fees cover operational expenses like volunteer coordination, accommodation, food, and logistics, the true heart of our projects – such as constructing water wells, providing sanitary supplies, building dormitories, and supporting educational initiatives – relies on the additional funds raised by our volunteers.

Fundraising is a rewarding experience not only because you feel an incredible sense of accomplishment when you reach your target, but also because you get to witness firsthand the direct impact your efforts have made.

At the end of each trip, we provide a detailed breakdown of all project costs and how the funds were spent, ensuring complete transparency and allowing you to see the difference you’ve helped create.

What happens after I apply?

After you apply, we will carefully review your application and schedule an interview at a mutually convenient time. If accepted, we will provide you with all the details about the trip, including fundraising guidelines, and offer support and guidance throughout the process to ensure you’re fully prepared. Once everything is in place, it’s time to get excited for a new adventure!

Please do not worry if you think we have not seen your application. We review every submission thoroughly before interviewing. Volunteers are selected on a first-come, first-served basis, taking into account availability, suitability, and ensuring a good fit with the team. Make sure to apply quickly to secure your spot! That said, we occasionally have last-minute dropouts, so it’s always worth keeping an eye out on our social media for open opportunities.
