Hope Drops

Hope Drops are an NFT (non-fungible token) art collection of characterised raindrop pictures on the Ethereum blockchain. Each artwork in Hope Drops is drawn by an orphan on behalf of Time to Help UK (TTH UK) for all the revenue to be spent on Ummul Qura Education and Orphanage Centre, where the artists reside, and its Water Well Project, which aims to open water wells to provide access to clean and safe water for the local residents of poor villages in Uganda, Tanzania, Chad and Kenya. Time to Help UK believes in conducting social good for humanity by all means. Hence, TTH UK benefits the technology at the utmost with the vision and objective to serve humanity in the digital era by transforming the fruitful benefits of digital platforms into tangible benefits to humankind.

The Hope Drops Collection

Each raindrop is a unique moody character drawn and caricatured by an orphan in Uganda, Africa. Inspired by a raindrop giving life to the barren steeps of Africa, a Hope Drop represents an opportunity to nourish the prospects of an orphan in Africa and transform the lives of locals for the better. There is 50 supply of them which will increase up to 300 in the next 2 years.

Artists

Being orphans at Ummul Qura Education and Orphanage Centre, our artists come from broken lives. Having lost their parents at a very young age, their hopes for the future are under dark clouds, leaving them with a misty future. They struggle not only with loneliness but also with economic limitations. These raindrops will become a drop of hope for a bright future for them. While they will secure financial aid for their education, a particular portion of the project revenue will be allocated to build water wells in various countries, Uganda, Tanzania, Chad, and Kenya, for the local people who have no access to safe drinking water.

The name of the purchaser and the NFT art will be printed on the water well.
A water well means relieving women from the burden of walking a 6 km of distance, carrying 25 L of water every day.
A water well means enabling girls to have access to education.
A water well means a prolific harvest and better profit for farmer families.
Most importantly, a water well means healthy and prolonged life with clean and safe drinking water.
We have built +100 water wells in 15 different countries up to this time.

Period poverty is the lack of access to sanitary products due to financial constraints; this can be caused by a wide range of life events that negatively impact a girl or woman’s ability to access sanitary products to manage a most intimate and regular occurrence in her life.

Q: How does period poverty affect society?

Period poverty can lead to physical health problems. Without access to pads or tampons, girls may resort to using dirty rags or leaves during their periods. This can cause infections and other medical problems, especially in countries where female genital mutilation (FGM) still takes place.

I am Kakaire Muhammed. I am a Ugandan by nationality and aged 17 years. I am an orphan, and I stay in the Mayuge district. I study at Ummul Qura Education and Orphanage Centre in primary seven. I prefer completing my studies abroad. My mother and father died when I was 10 years old. I stay with my grandmother, who is old, unable to pay my school fees. My grandmother is a farmer.

I am Namukuve Salima from Ummul Qura Education and Orphanage Centre. I am a Ugandan by nationality, aged 16. I stay at school all of my time. I am an orphan. My father died in 2014 when I was 10 years old. I stay with my mother, who cannot pay my school fees.

I am called Namutamba Latifah of Ummul Qura Education and Orphanage Centre. I am an orphan, Ugandan by nationality, aged 14, primary seven. I stay at school all of my time. I prefer completing my studies abroad. My father died at 24 years when I was 5 years odl. I stay with my mother, who cannot pay my school fees.

I am Talikaza Ammah from Ummul Qura Education and Orphanage Centre. I am a Ugandan by nationality, aged 15. I stay at school all of my time. I am an orphan. I am in primary seven. I prefer completing my studies at the school. But my father died in 2018 when I was 11 years old. I stay with my grandmother, who cannot pay my school fees. I am Abubakar Wairwa. I am a Ugandan by nationality, age 14. I am staying at Ummul Qura Education and Orphanage Centre. I prefer completing my studies abroad. I am an orphan, and my father died when I was 10 years old. I stay with my grandfather, who is unable to pay school fees. He is a farmer. Therefore, I beg your help so that I can complete my studies.

Make a Difference to Global Water Crisis

Clean and safe water might be a common element of our lives, but there are still 1 billion people who don’t have access to this. Clean water is still one of the biggest crises of today! It’s a human’s primary need. Without it, everything becomes a risk factor: poverty, education, health and a big issue for women and children. Because of contaminated water sources, every 2 minutes, a child dies.

It is also a huge challenge for women. The average woman in rural Africa walks 6 kilometres every day to haul 40 pounds of water, and in the end, the water isn’t even clean. The long walk for water is full of dangers; wild animals attack poor souls on the way to water, sometimes children are kidnapped and don’t have time to go to school.

But we can change this! With our trusted partners on the ground, we build water wells and provide clean and safe water for the people who desperately need it.
